So what do HOT ROD readers think
of this latest concept from the folks at Galpin Ford? This is a full
carbon fiber body draped over a new 2015 Mustang chassis. Designed by
Henrik Fisker, in cooperation with Galpin’s Beau Boeckmann, you might
remember Fisker from the ill-fated Fisker Karma hybrid sedan. Before the
Fisker fiasco Henrik was a rising design star having designed the BMW
Z8, Aston Martin DB9, and V8 Vantage.

Called the “Rocket” Galpin’s
super Mustang is touted as the “Ultimate American Muscle Car”. It is
planned for limited production by early 2015. Not bound by corporate
identities and other production targets allowed Fisker to create a more
aggressive grille, adding more than a modicum of functional vents and
scoops. Fisker says his inspiration was the 1968 Shelby Mustang, which
is his favorite Mustang.
The
engine is upgraded to 725hp, and 15-inch Brembo brakes and 21-inch ADV1
wheels add to the extreme nature of performance and appearance upgrades.
Galpin’s aim is to see their
Rocket compete and compare with the supercars coming out of Europe.
